Last week, the New York Times reported that the Bush Pentagon had agreed to a contract for more Kevlar helmets for our troops from the very company that was being sued for cheating troops out of helmets that met military standards. Especially at a time when so many troops are in harm’s way, no such company should ever receive a new contract. Why has Giuliani turned his back on the 9/11 First Responders? We are all trying to get on with our lives in this post-9/11 world, but the real heroes carry physical particles from the towers in their bodies.
Philip Landrigan, MD stated before the 9/11 Commission: “millions of microscopic shards of glass… asbestos, dioxins, … jet fuel…, organic solvents, most notably benzene…a mix that’s never previously been encountered....”
Rudy Giuliani has abandoned them.
