61 acres to 9 acres!
YES to preserving Amusement Zoning in

YES to keeping Coney Island
the People's Playground-

for ALL to enjoy!!

Freaks-A-Loo-Yah!

Something in the skys kept me from getting a good picture of Queen Savitri D and her escort, King Neptune, a/k/a Rev. Billy. They were also constantly surrounded by "official handlers."
Now that was weird!

Take me to the Atlantic Ocean! Get into the mix and be happy!

Greenpeace Boy!

Now this is progressive! This Brooklyn guy put together a stand to sell healthy liquids to hot Merpeople and Bystanders alike. His sign says "profits to Greenpeace," and it was the best drink at the best price for the best reason! Let's ALL support GREENPEACE!

Save Our Coney Island!

I took a few good photos from this event to post at a later time. The crowd was fabulous, but I couldn't get a good photo of the lovely Mermaid Queen Savitri D and her consort, King Neptune, a/k/a Rev. Billy. For now, check out the MermaidCam and bring your friends to Lincoln High School on Tuesday to save our Coney Island!

Legend Of The Queen Mermaid

For untold generations the Mermaid Empress of the Atlantic Reaches has joined the surface dwellers of Brook-land for gaiety, feasting, and song at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade. But this year the Mermaid Empress and Coney Island itself are in peril, beset on all sides by odious Land Barons who wish to turn Coney Island into a nightmare of glass and steel under their control! In protest, the Mermaid Queen refused to return to her home at the end of the Parade and has, instead, launched a hunger strike in protest of the Evil Land Barons' scheme. You can save her and the shore from certain extinction by questing on the Mermaid Empress' behalf to the the gathering:

Stop Shopping, Start Saving Our Homes!

If it weren't for Rev. Billy and the gang, I'd very likely be a drooling basket case in a city full of scum. Thanks to them, the Church of Stop Shopping and the Not Buying it Band, I have been redeemed and blessed by the glorious light of the First Amendment! Now they're joining other New Yorkers in one of the most under appreciated events in the five boroughs, the Mermaid Parade. If you haven't been there, you must do this before it's gone, like New Orleans or America's breadbasket states and family farms. For those unable to transcend space & time, the MermaidCam will have to suffice.

Queen Mermaid Savitri Will Hunger Strike After Parade
Our church leaders Savitri D and Reverend Billy are the Mermaid Queen and King Neptune of this year's Mermaid Parade - June 21.
In the role of Queen Mermaid, Savitri insists that "the mermaid will refuse to go back to the sea until Coney Island is saved." She will fast for three days in her finny queenly costume in the window at the Coney Island Side-show, that emporium of freaks, urging citizens to attend the scoping meeting that will decide the FATE of FUN at Coney Island:
