Trash Talk = Thought Crime

Thought crimes are already being prosecuted every day, RIGHT NOW, the media doesn't report on the absurdity Case in point: Today there was a news story about Debra Lafave, the notorious Florida teacher who got into mucho problemas because of her affair with a 14 year old. Although the kid didn’t file a complaint, (duh!) she still had to do time, albeit house arrest. Now she's busted for talking about guys with her fellow waitress! No one in the town has a problem with her, her customers have nice things to say, but... this happens to her. She gets om trouble for having a conversation with a 17 year old co-worker. The girl just can’t get a break. Here’s a the background of the case:

Debra Lafave timeline
In June of 2004: Debra Lafave was a teacher at Greco Middle School, when she was arrested. Authorities said she had sex with a 14-year old boy just a week before inside a portable at the school.
In November 2005: Lafave accepted a plea deal in Hillsborough County; guilty to two counts of lewd and lascivious in exchange for 3 years house arrest.
A month later: she expected a similar deal in Marion County, but instead the judge set a trial date.
Then in March of 2006: while she was on trial, Lafave got engaged to her high school sweet heart Andrew Beck.
A few days later prosecutors in Marion County dropped all charges.
Lafave avoided trial. She started serving three years house arrest and seven years of probation, both for pleading guilty to two counts of lewd and lascivious battery.
Before Tuesday's arrest she had just finished her second year of house arrest.

And now this [emphasis added] ...
Debra Lafave Arrested for Probation Violation

TAMPA, FL (AP) -- A former middle school teacher serving house arrest for having sex with a 14-year-old student was arrested Tuesday for violating her probation, state records showed.
According to a Department of Corrections report, Debra Lafave discussed her personal life and other subjects with a teenage waitress at a restaurant where they both worked. One of the terms of her probation had been that she was not allowed to have unsupervised contact with any minors without permission.
[...] Her attorney, John Fitzgibbons, said he was disappointed that her probation officer ordered her arrest for what he called an "insignificant" violation. He characterized the conversation between Lafave and the 17-year-old girl as "typical workplace conversation that women have with their women colleagues."
[...] the report said, she and a fellow waitress discussed "non-work related issues such as family problems, friends, high school, personal life, boyfriend issues and sexual issues. ... (Lafave) received no permission from the court to have any contact with minors."
[...]
The arrest surprised everyone, he [Fitzgibbons] said."I don't think anyone felt this was a huge issue," he said.
