Monday December 17, 2007 - 12 NOON - City Hall steps.
Join a broad coalition of New Yorkers, including City Councilpersons Charles Barron, MelissaVivitero, NY Solidarity Coalition with Katrina/Rita Survivors, Friends Of Public Housing, Picture the Homeless Coalition, Right to the City Coalition, human rights, labor and community activist who are gathering at City Hall steps to raise our voices in solidarity with New Orleans public housing tenants and their allies who are opposing the insane push to demolish some of the soundest built housing in new Orleans.

Outside the 2,000-bed temporary shelter in Baton Rouge's River Centre, a Church of Scientology band is performing a version of Bill Withers's classic Use Me - a refreshingly honest choice. "If it feels this good getting used," the Scientology singer belts out, "just keep on using me until you use me up."
