Faux Scoops BBC?

The excuses we were given by airport "authorities" for humiliating searches, long waits, removal of shoes (the harder to run away, my dear) and dumping of cosmetics, perfume, water, even expressed breast milk were all bogus. But all the charges (for this "plot") have been dropped! Where/what is the news? The BBC story has even less detail than Fox News, which at least used the Associated Press for it's coverage!
Court Orders British Suspect Freed

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan ordered the release Thursday of a Briton suspected in an alleged plot to blow up trans-Atlantic jetliners, his lawyer said.

The court in Rawalpindi ordered the release of Rashid Rauf, a British Muslim of Pakistani origin, after the prosecution withdrew the case against him, attorney Hashmat Habib said. The lawyer said Rauf is likely to be deported to Britain.
…Pakistani police arrested Rauf in August 2006 on a tip from British authorities and have described him as a key suspect in an alleged plot to blow up jetliners flying from Britain to the United States. The purported plot prompted a major security alert at airports and increased restrictions on carry-on items.
Britain had asked Pakistan to extradite Rauf in connection with a 2002 murder inquiry in Britain that is separate from the alleged terrorism plot.

Read it yourself, but it seems to me we've been stripping for nothing:
Charges against Briton 'dropped'

The Pakistani authorities have dropped all charges against a British national arrested there in August 2006, his lawyer says.

Rashid Rauf faced charges of being in possession of false identity papers and bomb-making materials. Relatives of Mr Rauf told the BBC that he had been taken from jail on Thursday in a police convoy.
However, police say he is still being held in jail because they have not been told to release him.

…That's not an excerpt; that's it! Three cheers for the BBC for their in-depth coverage of the key suspect in the alleged plot that shut down her main airport and kick-started onerous travel restrictions which remain in effect to this day!
