State-by-State Prosecution of Bush?

Could this be the way to go? Obviously we have to do something and stop relying upon Congress. Our elected officials might be more responsive to a grassroots outcry for justice against Mr. Omnipotence. Take the poll to contribute to the dialogue and spread the idea that WE, THE PEOPLE still have some rights and power in these United States.

Will Bugliosi Succeed in Getting Bush Indicted & Prosecuted on Murder Charges?
Over 4,000 American soldiers have lost their lives fighting George W. Bush's war in Iraq on "false pretenses", which are "unlawful deaths", requiring that Bush be indicted and prosecuted on murder and conspiracy to commit murder charges, as noted and documented by renowned prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi in his stunning, best selling book "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder", Link CLICK HERE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pvWCLobIlM [3 very valuable minutes---watch it!]
"The preferable venue for the prosecution of George W. Bush for murder and conspiracy to commit murder would be in the nation's capital, with the prosecutor being the Attorney General of the United States acting through his Department of Justice.
This book, however, establishes jurisdiction for any state attorney general (or any district attorney in any county of a state) to bring murder and conspiracy charges against Bush for any soldiers from that state or county who lost their lives fighting Bush's war, [my bold] which as you can see applies to every state in this nation", excerpt taken from "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder".

The Horrific Legacy of BushCo

Did this administration sincerely believe that by offering a bounty, the warring tribes of Afghanistan would unite against the “evil do-ers” and turn in known terrorists? Those people have suffered for so long, and they will see NATO as the enemy, too. This will not have a happy ending, I fear.
America's prison for terrorists often held the wrong men

GARDEZ, Afghanistan — The militants crept up behind Mohammed Akhtiar as he squatted at the spigot to wash his hands before evening prayers at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.
They shouted "Allahu Akbar" — God is great — as one of them hefted a metal mop squeezer into the air, slammed it into Akhtiar's head and sent thick streams of blood running down his face.
Akhtiar was among the more than 770 terrorism suspects imprisoned at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. They are the men the Bush administration described as "the worst of the worst."
But Akhtiar was no terrorist. American troops had dragged him out of his Afghanistan home in 2003 and held him in Guantanamo for three years in the belief that he was an insurgent involved in rocket attacks on U.S. forces. The Islamic radicals in Guantanamo's Camp Four who hissed "infidel" and spat at Akhtiar, however, knew something his captors didn't: The U.S. government had the wrong guy.[...]

Tough Times Ahead for Italia

Cari amici, now it is up to you to bring some sense back to Italians and make Berlusconi listen to you! Turn off your TVs, go to the Internet for news, not Berlusconi's hysterical media which uses fear tactics worthy of FAUX News. Now they're going to convince you to send more troops to AFGHANISTAN? Will you buy it? I also have a very nice bridge, right nearby, very well known, and you might like to purchase it?
Bush to press Berlusconi on Iran and Afghanistan
Wed Jun 11, 2008 9:35pm EDT
By Matt Spetalnick and Stephen Brown
ROME (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush will urge Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi as an old ally on Thursday to take a tougher stand over Iran's nuclear program and expand Italy's military role in Afghanistan
[...] But beyond the smiles and handshakes, Bush will be looking for concrete signs that Berlusconi, whose previous government supported the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, is bringing Italy's foreign policy back closer in line with Washington's.
[...] Berlusconi's admiration for Bush runs counter to public sentiment in Europe where he is widely reviled for the Iraq war.
While Berlusconi and Pope Benedict prepared to roll out the red carpet for Bush over the next two days, about a thousand leftists and anti-war activists staged a peaceful protest in the centre of Rome after his arrival on Wednesday.
Bush's bid to ratchet up pressure on Iran over its nuclear program is expected to be high on the agenda with Berlusconi, as it has been since the start of his European trip on Monday.
[...] Italy, one of Iran's top foreign investors, could have an impact should the European Union carry out a threat to impose new measures on Tehran beyond existing U.N. sanctions if it keeps defying demands to stop uranium enrichment.
Washington had urged the centre-left government of Berlusconi's predecessor Romano Prodi to take a harder line with Italian companies doing business in Iran but to little avail.
Signalling a stronger stance, Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said in a television interview the "path of sanctions should be resumed more firmly than ever" if Tehran rejected a revised incentives package it would soon be offered.
Bush wants a firmer commitment from Berlusconi to the war effort in Afghanistan. He has pressed NATO allies, so far with limited results, to increase troop levels and lift bans on deployment of forces to places where fighting is fiercest.
Italy has about 2,700 troops in Afghanistan, mostly off the front lines.
Defense Minister Ignazio La Russa told a parliamentary hearing on Wednesday he had agreed to a "limited" deployment of Italian troops to combat zones.
[...] Bush's critics say he has been so distracted by Iraq that he has neglected the Afghan war. The U.S.-led invasion of Iraq was opposed by Germany and France and sowed division in Europe, but bitterness has gradually subsided.[...]

From the People's Republic of Brooklyn comes comedy and 9/11 analysis in this creative (a bit long, so get comfy before viewing) imagining Columbo's last case: Get Bin Laden
From Brooklyn vs. Bush, via 9/11 Truth, enjoy levity with gravity.
Columbo's Final Case: The Hunt for Bin Laden

I guess it has become possible to laugh about some aspects of 9/11. It's all part of the healing.

MeClellan Must NOT Profit from Murder

Dear MoveOn member,
There are laws to prevent criminals from profiting by selling their stories. But after spending years defending the Bush administration and perpetuating the lies that led our country into war, Scott McClellan is poised to make bank—his tell-all book is a bestseller and he may make hundreds of thousands or millions.
Meanwhile, our troops are still dying in Iraq.
Coming clean is admirable. But McClellan shouldn't profit off the role he played in our nation's largest foreign policy blunder.
So we have a proposition for him. Let's call on him to donate all of the proceeds from his book to a group that helps Iraq veterans, like Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. If we make enough noise, he'll probably be asked about it on tomorrow's Sunday shows (he's on all three!)—so please sign on and pass this around. Clicking below will add your name:

http://pol.moveon.org/mcclellan/o.pl?id=12765-575351-ZWr4ub&t=3

The petition reads:

People who helped lie this country into an unnecessary war should not be rewarded for it. Scott McClellan should donate all the proceeds from his book to a group that helps Iraq veterans—like Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.

Thanks for all you do.

Fidel Defends His People

Wouldn't it be terrific to vote for someone you actually had confidence in? Instead it will be the usual game of crossing fingers while holding noses to vote for the "lesser evil." At the risk of being accused of handing the election over to the repuglicans, here are some thoughts from Chairman Castro. It seems Obama's "change" doesn't really extend to Cuban policy or, more importantly, to the people who will receive the impact of these policies.
Castro calls Obama speech "formula for hunger"
Mon May 26, 2008 10:51am EDT
HAVANA (Reuters) - Cuban leader Fidel Castro on Monday called Democrat Barack Obama the candidate most advanced on social issues running for U.S. president but said his speech on Cuba last week was a "formula for hunger."
In one of his periodic newspaper columns published in Communist Party newspaper Granma, Castro said he had "no personal rancor" toward Obama, but "if I defended him I would do a huge favor for his adversaries."
Obama, speaking before an influential Cuban-American group in Miami, said Cuba deprived its people of civil liberties and free elections, and vowed to maintain, with modifications, a 46-year-old U.S. trade embargo against the island.
Obama has called for lifting restrictions on travel to Cuba and the amount of money people in the United States can send to relatives in Cuba.
"Obama's speech can translate into a formula of hunger for the nation (Cuba), the remittances like alms and the visits to Cuba as propaganda for consumerism and the unsustainable lifestyle that he sustains.
"How is the very grave problem of the food crisis going to be confronted? Grains must be distributed among human beings, domestic animals and fish, which year by year are smaller and more scarce in the over-exploited seas," Castro said. "It's not easy to produce meat from gas and oil." [Don't cha wish you could be that smart when you're 81!]
"Obama overestimates the possibilities of technology in the struggle against climate change, although he is more conscious than (President George W.) Bush of the risks and the little time available," he said.
Obama "without doubt is, from the social and human point, the most advanced candidate" running for the U.S. presidency, Castro said. But he accused him of reviving the Monroe Doctrine, which stated in 1823 the United States would not permit European countries to further colonize or interfere in the Americas.
Last week, Castro blasted Bush and Republican presidential candidate John McCain in a newspaper column for their criticisms of the Cuban government. McCain, he said, showed why he finished near the bottom of his class in college.
Castro, 81 and not fully recovered from intestinal surgery in July 2006, took power in a 1959 revolution but stepped aside in February and was succeeded as president by his younger brother Raul Castro. He is still head of the Communist Party and said to be involved in governing.

Instead of freaking out about the coming crises, Cuba has already managed to restructure their gas guzzling ways to create sustainability. Here's the blurb from Ironweed: "After the Soviet Union collapsed and the U.S. tightened its embargo, Cubans suffered a ‘peak oil’ crisis. Their adaptation to this decline in petroleum offers a much-needed model for living sustainably on a finite earth." A good way to obtain it is from the monthly film club, Ironweed.org. Check it out!

Support the GI Bill

Wesley Clark, along with Brave New Films and VoteVets has put this issue right where it belongs, front and center. Unfortunately, our mis-leaderer doesn't support the troops. If we don't keep up the pressure, Mr. MIA will crush it. Please take a moment to sign the petition and pass it on.

Last week, the Senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of Senator Jim Webb's New GI Bill by a 75 to 22 vote. The New GI Bill would help veterans keep up with skyrocketing tuition costs and pay for a quality education after they return from service.
President Bush has threatened to veto the bill, and we are going to need a two-thirds majority in the Senate to override his veto.
Click here to help us build on our momentum. Email your Senators, and tell them to override the President's veto against the New GI Bill now!

Bush Gets Bashed by Former Mouthpiece

I believe this is a story about chickens not roosting but covering their butts. Let the subpoenas begin!
'Politico': Scott McClellan Hits White House in New Book
By Greg Mitchell
Published: May 27, 2008 7:40 PM ET Wednesday
NEW YORK Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan is re-emerging, at least, with a memoir due out next week, titled “What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception” (Public Affairs, $27.95).
Mike Allen, with a preview copy, calls it, at Politico.com, a "surprisingly scathing memoir." He reveals: "A few reporters were offered advance copies of the book, with the restriction that their stories not appear until Sunday, the day before the official publication date. Politico declined and purchased 'What Happened' at a Washington bookstore."
[...] Here is a sampling of the "explosive revelations" as described by Allen. (You might say that President Bush doesn't get off Scott-free.) The entire preview is at www.politico.com.
• McClellan charges that Bush relied on “propaganda” to sell the war.
• He says the White House press corps was too easy on the administration during the run-up to the war. McClellan repeatedly embraces the rhetoric of Bush's liberal critics and even charges: “If anything, the national press corps was probably too deferential to the White House and to the administration in regard to the most important decision facing the nation during my years in Washington, the choice over whether to go to war in Iraq.
“The collapse of the administration’s rationales for war, which became apparent months after our invasion, should never have come as such a surprise. … In this case, the ‘liberal media’ didn’t live up to its reputation. If it had, the country would have been better served.”
• He admits that some of his own assertions from the briefing room podium turned out to be “badly misguided.”
• The longtime Bush loyalist also suggests that two top aides held a secret West Wing meeting to get their story straight about the CIA leak case at a time when federal prosecutors were after them — and McClellan was continuing to defend them despite mounting evidence they had not given him all the facts.
• McClellan asserts that the aides — Karl Rove, the president’s senior adviser, and I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, the vice president’s chief of staff — “had at best misled” him about their role in the disclosure of former CIA operative Valerie Plame’s identity.
* [A]fter Hurricane Katrina, the White House “spent most of the first week in a state of denial,” and he blames Rove for suggesting the photo of the president comfortably observing the disaster during an Air Force One flyover. McClellan says he and counselor to the president Dan Bartlett had opposed the idea and thought it had been scrapped.
*E&P Editor Greg Mitchell's new book is So Wrong for So Long: How the Press, the Pundits -- and the President -- Failed on Iraq.
Don't worry, Mom. I'm clean!

Nazis in the White House

The story about the Buses involvement with the Nazi Party isn't new, but still needs to be spread far and wide. Here is an abridged version of Robert Parry's report on our First Family Nazis:
The Bushes and Hitler's Appeasement
By Robert Parry May 18, 2008
The irony of George W. Bush going before the Knesset and mocking the late Sen. William Borah for expressing surprise at Adolf Hitler’s 1939 invasion of Poland is that Bush’s own family played a much bigger role assisting the Nazis.
[...] The archival evidence is now clear that Prescott Bush, the president’s grandfather, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from and collaborated with key financial backers of Nazi Germany.
That business relationship continued after Hitler invaded Poland in 1939 and even after Germany declared war on the United States following Japan’s bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941. It stopped only when the U.S. government seized assets of Bush-connected companies in late 1942 under the “Trading with the Enemy Act.”
[...] One can trace the origins of this story back more than a century to the emergence of Samuel Bush, George W. Bush’s great-grandfather, as a key manager for a set of powerful American business families, including the Rockefellers and the Harrimans. [See Consortiumnews.com’s “Bush Family Chronicles: The Patriarchs.”]
That chapter took an important turn in 1919 when investment banker George Herbert Walker teamed up with Averell Harriman, scion to a railroad fortune, to found a new investment banking firm, W.A. Harriman Company.
[...] In 1921, Walker’s favorite daughter, Dorothy, married Samuel Bush’s son Prescott, a Yale graduate and a member of the school’s exclusive Skull and Bones society.[...]
Three years later, Dorothy gave birth to George Herbert Walker Bush in Milton, Massachusetts.
Lifted by the financial boom of the 1920s, Prescott and Dorothy Bush were on the rise. By 1926, George Herbert Walker had brought his son-in-law in on a piece of the Harriman action, hiring him as a vice president in the Harriman banking firm.
[...] By the mid-Thirties, Prescott Bush had become a ma
